“Over nearly six years, $650 million has been invested in the park. A supercapacitor, truck cranes, laser equipment, drones, Euro-6 engines and heavy-duty gearboxes, a 5G pilot communication zone and a multi-modal container terminal are just a few of the projects that are now underway in the park,” Aleksandr Yaroshenko said

According to the head of state, thanks to its foresight and efficient social and economic policy in 2020 China fully eradicated poverty and reached one of the Two Centenary Goals, which is to build a moderately prosperous society.

“On 10 February, Belarusian Potash Company reached an agreement with the consortium of Chinese customers (Sinochem, CNAMPGC, CNOOC) on the contract price of $247 per tonne,” the press service noted

The document was signed by future founders of the Novoera biotechnology company, the park administration and the Industrial Park Development Company

The parties spoke at length about ways to boost export of Belarusian products to China. Ni Yuefeng noted that Belarus-China trade has been on the rise against the backdrop of a slump in global trade. The export growth was driven by non-resource goods, primarily agriculture and food products, which demonstrates that Belarusian goods are getting more recognizable and competitive in the Chinese market

The parties focused on topical issues of bilateral cooperation, including development of the international railway terminal in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone and cooperation in the organization of container transportation between China and Europe via Belarus

China is going to build 20 more social houses in Belarus. The governments of Belarus and China will sign the corresponding agreement to implement the project “Construction of social housing (third stage)”

The friendly relations were also demonstrated during the COVID-19 outbreak last year. The first plane with humanitarian aid to China was sent by Belarus.

“The parties discussed the business environment in the industrial park, benefits and advantages to its resident companies, and its development plans. Possible avenues of cooperation were also on the agenda of the negotiations. The company expressed its intent to establish a pharmaceutical factory in the Great Stone industrial park to produce a wide range of medicines, including for COVID-19,” the park said

The ceremony was attended by Belarusian Ambassador to China Yuri Senko, Chongqing Vice Mayor Li Bo, representatives of the Department for Consular Affairs of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, departments and districts of the People's Government of Chongqing, consuls general of the diplomatic corps of foreign countries accredited in the region.
