These advantages should be actively used with mutual benefit. The international seminar will help strengthen the partnership between Hubei and Belarus, including Brest Region,” said Huang Chuoping.

In his opinion, China's increasing investment in Belarus will be a major contribution to the implementation of the Belt and Road concept. The first vice governor mentioned the important role that Hubei plays in the new Silk Road project. The province, which is located in the central part of China, is crossed by air, railway, water (the Yangtze River) and road routes.

In turn, Andrei Klets spoke about the advantages of cooperation with Belarus. In his words, Brest Region and Hubei Province are linked by long-standing ties of friendship and twinning relations. The strongest impetus was added to the bilateral ties after the visit of China's President Xi Jinping to Belarus in 2015.

Andrei Klets stressed that over the past two years about 20 Belarusian-Chinese meetings and negotiations at various levels took place between representatives of Brest Region and Hubei Province. He also noted the importance of the fact that railway containers from Wuhan to Europe and back go via Brest.
