Belarus Agriculture Ministry signs contracts to supply $58m worth of Belarusian farm products to China

MINSK – Belarus' Agriculture and Food Ministry has signed contracts with Chinese companies to supply $58 million worth of Belarusian farm products to China. The contracts were signed during an agricultural fair in China’s Guangzhou. The fair was organized by Belarus’ Embassy in China.

Belarusian farm products will be exported to China under the united brand “Made in Belarus”.

Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats and Belarus’ Ambassador to China Krill Rudy met up with Dai Shiwei, CEO at DRex Food Group Co., Ltd., to discuss the terms of an investment agreement with Belarus’ Vitebsk Region to create dairy farms, and also approved the 2018 volume of Belarus’ dairy exports to China.

As previously reported, Veles-Meat (Molodechno, Minsk Region) and Mogilev Meat Packing Factory received permission to export meat to China. The choice of Belarusian meat suppliers was made public on Dec 12, 2017 in Beijing at meeting between Belarus' Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats head of the Chinese General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine Zhi Shuping.

Also, on Dec 11, 2017 Minister Zayats made an agreement with head of China’s COFCO Corporation Zhao Shuanglian to supply 10,000 tonnes of Belarusian dairy products to China in 2018.
