Grodno State University expands cooperation with China

GRODNO (BelTA) – Yanka Kupala Grodno State University is expanding cooperation with Chinese universities, BelTA learnt from the mass communications center of the Grodno university.
A delegation of Chongqing University of China has arrived in Grodno on 24 June. The Chinese delegation is to meet with the rector and deans of the faculties of innovative mechanical engineering, biology and ecology, physico-technical faculty and heads of research laboratories. They will discuss cooperation as part of the memorandum of understanding between the universities signed in February 2013.
The Chinese delegation will tour research laboratories of the university, the Center for Chinese Studies and meet with students studying Chinese.
Chinese students have been studying in Grodno for several years already. Students from the Grodno university also go to China to study in local universities. At the moment three Grodno students receive training at Chongqing University; another three will go there in September.
Chongqing University was established in 1929. It has 27 faculties providing training in a number of disciplines, including engineering, economics, management, humanities, arts, law, natural sciences and education science, the graduate school, the distant learning institute, the College of Continuing Education and the College of Networking Education, and 15 research facilities. The university has an enrollment of 70,000 students. Many disciplines are taught in English.
