Head of the Presidential Administration of Belarus Vladimir Makei met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Belarus Gong Jianwei on 22 February. The meeting took place on the initiative of the Chinese side, BelTA learnt from the President Administration.

Belarus and China are implementing investment projects stipulated by contracts and loan agreements. The projects are estimated at $5.5 billion, Vice Premier of Belarus Anatoly Tozik said at the session of the Belarusian part of the Belarus-China intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation, BelTA has learnt.

In 2012-2014 Belarus will take out loans of the China State Development Bank for retooling the Dobrush paper mill, a branch of OAO Management Company of the Holding Belorusskie Oboi, for the sake of starting the production of coated and uncoated kinds of pasteboard.

The Belarusian-Chinese project to upgrade the Minsk national airport was discussed by Chinese and Belarusian specialists in a meeting at the Ministry of Transport and Communications on 21 February.
