The State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus suggests expanding the areas of activities pursued by the Belarusian-Chinese technological cluster in Changchun, the press service of the State Science and Technology Committee told BelTA.

China has granted a $1 billion untied loan to Belarus. The information was released by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko as he visited the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics and talked to students on 21 December, BelTA has learned.

Belarusian-Chinese cooperation in science and education was the center of attention at a meeting in Beijing attended by the representatives of Belarusian State University (BSU), BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus in China.

The implementation of projects to supply freight electric locomotives to the Belarusian railroad operator Belarusian Railways and projects to electrify parts of the railroad was discussed in Beijing. The matters were discussed at a meeting of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Mr Viktor Burya and Vice President of China National Electric Import & Export Corporation (CUEC) Mr Yu Shengzhi in the Embassy of Belarus in Beijing, BelTA has learned.

Prospects for trade and investment cooperation with Chinese counterparts  were discussed during the visit of the delegation of Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus to China, BelTA learnt from the Belarusian Embassy in Beijing.

The Export-Import Bank of China will provide Belarus with a $280.8 million loan for the development of the national communication and broadcasting satellite service. The bank will allocate $322 million more for the reconstruction of M5/E271 Minsk-Gomel highway. The decisions are contained in Council of Ministers’ Resolution No.1161 of 17 December 2012, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian government.

China will provide a soft buyer loan to Belarus to implement an investment project envisaging the development of the national communication and broadcasting satellite service, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus to the People’s Republic of China.

The Belarus Center at East China Normal University in Shanghai played host to a soiree to mark the 130th birthday of Belarusian literature classicists Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas, BelTA learnt from the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.

A meeting of representatives of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry with a delegation of the People’s Republic of China took place at premises of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry on 13 December, representatives of the Ministry told BelTA.
