China’s Geely holding interested in car production in Belarus

MINSK (BelTA) – China’s Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd. would like to set up car production in Belarus, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian government.
The project was discussed at a recent meeting of Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich with top executives of the Chinese holding. While presenting the products, the chief of the Chinese company expressed readiness to expand the capacities of one of Belarus’ companies, the press service informed.
Geely has over 30 car brands, including Emgrand, Gleagle, Englon. In 2010, the company’s total sales made 416,000; 56,200 cars were sold outside China.
