Belarus’ export to China up 2.5 times in January-July

MINSK (BelTA) – In January-July 2010 Belarus’ export to China soared more than 2.5 times to $278.2 million, BelTA learnt from the National Statistics Committee.

Besides, Belarus’ export increased by 69% to the United State, 62% to Kazakhstan, 54% to Ukraine, 49.2% to Russia, 48.8% to Brazil, 37.5% to Lithuania, 34.5% to Italy, 28.7% - to Venezuela, 13.5% to Poland.

At the same time the export shrank to Latvia (by 42.8%), Germany (b y35.1%), the Netherlands (30.5%), the United Kingdom (14.9%).

In January-July 2010 Belarus increased the import from Kazakhstan by 3.4 times over the same period last year. The import from India grew 47.4%, that from China – 41.9%, Ukraine – 37.3%, Brazil – 35.1%, the United Kingdom – 30.2%, Poland – 25.6%, the Netherlands – 14.6%, Lithuania – 11.9%, Russia – 6.1%. Belarus decreased the import by 30.7% from Latvia, 5% - from Italy and 2.7% - from the United States.

On the whole, Belarus traded with 179 countries, exporting commodities to 145 countries and importing products from 156 countries. In January-July Belarus’ main trade partners were Russia (47.8% of the total trade), Ukraine (7.3%), the Netherlands (5.1%), Germany (4.7%), China (3.5%), Poland (3.3%), Latvia, UK and Brazil (1.7% each), Italy (1.6%).

In January-July the foreign trade in goods totaled $30.8 billion, including export of $13.3 billion and import of $17.5 billion.
