Bellegprom, China Textile Engineering Society to develop cooperation

MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) – Bellegprom Concern and the China Textile Engineering Society (CTES) have signed a memorandum of agreement, BelTA learnt from the Belarusian company.

The two sides have reached mutual understanding and expressed readiness to develop cooperation in the textile industry. “The Chinese side is ready to arrange a visit of a delegation of the Bellegprom Concern to China in September this year in order to demostrate new technologies and technological equipment applied in the Chinese textile industry,” the concern said.

Bellegprom views as promising the cooperation with the Chinese partners in equipment supplies and direct investment. “China’s participation in the Bellegprom’s investment projects can help prompt their implementation,” the concern noted. The Belarusian company also plans to open a service center for the Chinese textile equipment.

A delegation of the industrial and business circles of the People’s Republic of China was in Belarus on a visit from 15-20 August at the invitation of the Bellegprom Concern. The visit highlighted the issues related to the supplies of textile equipment and participation in the investment projects to upgrade the manufacturing capacities of the Orsha Flax Mill, Baranovichi Cotton Union, Mogotex.

The China Textile Engineering Society unites 682 textile industrial companies and 16 subordinate agencies. CTES also includes R&D establishments, marketing and sales departments, other structural divisions responsible for the textile industry development.

Bellegprom is a versatile complex that includes textile, knitting, sewing, leather and footwear, fur and haberdashery subindustries. It accounts for 80% of Belarus’ light goods output. Bellegprom unites 116 organizations, with the number of industrial enterprises as large as 94. As of 1 January 2010 76 enterprises had been certified for ISO 9000. The concern employs around 80,000 people.
