The State Standardization Committee of Belarus and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China have agreed to rule out repeated tests and additional procedures in mutual trade, Chairman of the State Standardization Committee of Belarus Valery Koreshkov told reporters in Minsk on 9 October after the negotiations with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China.
The two sides exchanged the information on the quality control and security, compliance assessment in the two states. The two parties found it important to develop cooperation in standardization, metrology and compliance assessment intended to remove technical barriers in trade.
Partaking in the negotiations were representatives of the Emergencies Ministry, the Construction and Architecture Ministry, the Agriculture and Food Ministry, companies involved in the implementation of the joint investment projects with China.
According to Valery Koreshkov, the two sides considered all the issues of certification, cooperation in products testing, metrological assurance in the implementation of investment projects.
The sides agreed to strengthen cooperation between the branch-wise institutions.
Belarus and China have made another step to remove trade barriers. After the negotiations a protocol was signed between the State Standardization Committee of Belarus and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China. The document is set to promote the intergovernmental agreement between Belarus and China to secure the quality of the imported and exported goods inked on 4 December 1996.
