11.08.2008Belarus interested in experience of China in construction, public administration and other fields
The largest state-owned corporation in China, “CITIC”, displays
interest in cooperation with Belarus in the fields of construction,
production of new construction materials, power industry and also
creation of tourism infrastructure on the territory of Belarus.
China Guangdong Nuclear Power Corporation (CGNPC) sent a proposal
to the Energy Ministry of Belarus on cooperation in the nuclear
energy area, Deputy Energy Minister of Belarus Mikhail Mikhadiuk
told a press conference in Minsk on August 11.
Alexander Lukashenko has suggested that Belarus and Chinese corporation CITIC should cooperate more actively. The Belarusian side encourages CITIC to more actively come to Belarus, said the Belarusian head of state as met with CITIC CEO Kong Dan on August 7. “You know our capabilities and needs. This time we are very much interested in civil engineering. If your specialists are also interested in it, we would be delighted to present projects and ideas of the Belarusian construction industry in detail,” remarked the President.
Gross domestic product of Beijing will exceed 1 trillion Yuan due to Olympics 2008, press agencies say. According to Beijing Statistics Bureau, the GDP of the Chinese capital has been rising at an average rate of 12.4% per annum for the recent six years.
Following the results of the visit Mogilev City Executive Committee signed a protocol of intentions for cooperation with the Chinese partners, which presupposes design and construction of living premises at the company’s expense. Moreover, there was considered an opportunity to build objects of social and cultural importance at the company’s cost or at the cost of city budget.
Cement-makers are preparing construction sites to build manufacturing lines; business plans will have to pass a state expert review. “Chinese specialists are taking an active part in design operations, so our construction companies will be able to start building Belarus’ new cement-producing lines as early as this August,” the representative with the ministry said.
As BelTA learnt at the Department of Foreign Economic Relations of “Planar”, the Chinese experts thoroughly examined the activity of science and production association and the range of its production. The Chinese guests were particularly interested in new-generation equipment developed by the Planar Corporation, including modern pattern generators, steppers, photoacoustic units.
Jiang Xiaoyang noted that the Belarusian investment climate has been significantly improved. This encourages closer cooperation of businesses of the two countries, and the increase of the Chinese investments to the projects in various sectors of the national economy. “Belarus differs from other countries of the world by its high scientific and industrial potential. Further cooperation seems to be prospective and profitable for both economies of our countries,” he underlined.
The document presumes implementation of joint projects on
development of the equipment for finishing treatment of article
surface in magnetic field. It is planned to use Belarusian
technologies while creating new units.
