31 August 2007
The Belarusian government has instructed Minskenergo power-supplying company to take over the 325.87 million-Yuan loan from China Exim Bank. The Council of Ministers signed relevant resolution №1086.
The concessional loan was provided to the government for the reconstruction of Minsk-based co-generation power plant TETs-2.
The loan was extended against the security of Belarus’ Energy Ministry. The loan is serviced by Belpromstroybank.
The Finance Ministry is supposed to pay the interests on the loan using republican budget funds.
China National Corporation for Overseas Economic Cooperation has been authorized to work out the engineering design for the plant and supply two 32.5-megawatt power generating units.
