As the Ministry of Economy reported, export-import operations of Belarus with 149 countries of the world were registered in the first quarter of 2007. The goods were exported to the markets of 110 states, and imported from 136 states.

According to the Ministry of Economy during the period of January to March the republic's major partners were the following: Russia with 48.1% of the total turnover, the Netherlands - 7%, Germany - 6.1%, the Ukraine - 5.9%, Poland - 4%, Great Britain - 2.8%, Latvia and China - 2.4% each, the USA- 2.3%, and Italy - 1.7%.

Belarus and China approved 27 investment projects worth $2.7 bln to be implemented in the near future. Deputy Minister of Economy Petr Zhbko informed the journalists of the fact on May 17.  

 

 

Belarusian Potassium Company (BPC) and the Chinese company CNAMPGC intend to promote bilateral cooperation.

According to BPC public relations department on May 16, First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko, Belarusian Potassium Company general director Vladimir Nikolaenko and CNAMPGC president Xiao Zhounkai held negotiations in Minsk.

The parties discussed the establishment of bilateral and mutually beneficial cooperation in supplies of Belaruskalii and Uralkaliy products to China.

News agencies report world’s first mobile handset with solar battery was designed in China.

New handset’s storage battery can provide 20 minute talk time after 40 minutes of charging.

Photoelectric cells used in the handset’s design enable charging from both solar and electric light and from conventional power sources. The device weighs 140 g.

Belarusian travel industry representatives take part in international travel exhibition COTTM, taking place in Peking exhibition center during 14-16 of May. This was reported in the National Travel Agency which traditionally is an organizer of the unified stand of our country (approximately 60 sq. m.) being a bright pavilion of an original design developed specifically to represent Belarus at international exhibitions as an attractive tourist area.  

Lida Regional Executive Committee is traditionally intending to arrange the Third Regional Presentation-Exhibition “Lida – Region 2007” on the 3 – 4 of July. The aim of the arrangement is to provide favorable conditions for strengthening friendly international ties, to broaden foreign economic relations of industrial enterprises and small business, to develop favorable investment climate in Lida for foreign investors as well as to extend amicable relations. Investors and equipment suppliers are invited to visit the exhibition in order to find new ways of developing their businesses through collaboration with Lida region.

With the view to further foreign companies’ export of their to goods Chinese market the Ministry of Commerce of Chinese People's Republic resolved to open an official web-site «Export to China» .

Development of mutually advantageous relations in economic and financial spheres was discussed during visit of the delegation of the National Bank of Belarus headed by its president Mr. Prokopovich to Peking at the end of April.
