The Gomel Regional Executive Committee informs that the IV Gomel Investment Forum – 2007 and the VIII International Universal Exhibition-Fair of Consumer Goods «Spring 2007 in Gomel» are held on May 23-25, 2007 in Gomel.

On the 26 of April has finished the three days’ visit of Delegation of National Bank of the Republic of Belarus headed by the Chairman of board of Bank P. Prokopovich in the People’s Republic of China.

P. Prokopovich conducted negotiations with Bank Executive of the People’s Republic of China Zhou Xiao Chuan and Chairman of Chinese Bank Supervisory Commission Lu Min Kan. Following the results of these negotiations were signed Memorandum on cooperation in sphere of personnel training between National Bank of China and National Bank of the Republic of Belarus and Memorandum on cooperation between Chinese Bank Supervisory Commission and National Bank of the Republic of Belarus.

Representative office of Belarusian railway was opened in Kazakhstan. That was stated on 24 of April in Gomel by Chairman of Belarusian railway Vladimir Gerelo who took part in allocation of alumnus of Belarusian State University of Transport.

The main aim of the representative office is to find commodity in region of Central Asia and primarily in Kazakhstan. “We are interested in work with these regions because they possess powerful primary resources” - noted Chairman of Belarusian railway.

On the 19-20 of April during the visit of Belarusian delegation headed by First Prime-minister Vladimir Semashko to the People’s Republic of China meetings and negotiations with Chinese partners in context of preparing for realization of concrete projects of cooperation were continued.

On the 16 of April has started working visit of First Deputy Prime-Minister of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Semashko in China. Representatives of Ministry of Energy, architecture and construction, concerns “ Bellesbumprom”, “ Bellegprom” and Council of Ministers joined the delegation.

In the first day of visit V. Semashko conducted negotiations with the Chairman of Chinese national agency on nuclear power Sun Jine, Chairman of the management board technologic group company “ Tun Yun” Chen Weigen. At the meetings the subjects on legal base for development of cooperation in sphere of peaceful application of nuclear power were discussed as well as realization of the biggest investment projects (reconstruction of thermal power plant, building of coal-fired electric power-plant and others).

On the 10th of April in Beijing was opened International educational seminar on planning, building and administrating Hi-Tech Parks, organized by Ministry of science and technology of the People’s Republic of China. With the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the People’s Republic of China Belarusian delegation headed by Director of administration of Hi-Tech Park was invited to take part in the seminar. Delegation consists of representatives of Ministry of education, State committee on science and technology, science technical park “Metolit” BNTU, universities, scientific research institutes and science parks from Minsk, Gomel, Mogilev, Vitebsk and Grodno.

According to the information introduced to the Ministry of education of the Republic of Belarus by Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the People’s Republic of China participation of Belarusian universities in year 2006 in the two largest Chinese international educational exhibitions - The 11th China International Education Exhibition Tour and Beijing International Education Expo 2006 promoted entrance of Belarus to the Chinese market of educational services. As a result number of Chinese citizens who in year 2006 applied to the Embassy for visas measured up a peak rate in the history of Belarus-chinese relations and reached number of 476 people (against 312 in year 2005).

As Director of Private unitary manufacturing enterprise stated to the correspondent of Belta this year in Postavy region on the basis of enterprise will be established joined Belarus-Chinese enterprise for complex household appliances production.

He explained that “Belit” enterprise comprises Open joint-stock company “Gorizont” and joined project is implemented under holding of complex household appliances production. Chinese holding Midea Group will be the partner of the enterprise. It is planned to settle in Postavy production of air-conditioners and electric radiators. According to business plan foreign investor share will subscribe in technologic equipment totaling 750 thousand USD.

On the 6-10 of April 2007 was arranged the visit of Belarusian delegation of alcoholic beverages’ manages in the People’s Republic of China within Director General of Minsk alcoholic beverage “Kristall” L. Kucheryavyi, Director General of Brest alcoholic beverage “Belalko” V. Byalko, Director General of Vitebsk alcoholic beverage M. Vasilevskii and Director General of Grodno alcoholic beverage A. Buben..

On the 7 of April in Pekinese hotel “Qingrui Guoji Wenquan” was held presentation of Belarusian distilled beverages with the participance of about 100 trade companies from all provinces of People’s Republic of China and famous Chinese coopers Wang Qunyu and Bai Zhejiang, who highly appreciated the quality of Belarusian products.

Scientists of Belarus and China signed collaborating agreement in sphere of research and technology. On the 3 of April the Document was signed by Chairman of Presidium of National Academy of Science of the Republic of Belarus Michail Myasnikovich and Deputy Chairman of Department on science and technology under Administration of province Heilongjiang Dzhin Dzhichen.
